Inspired by the works of great Bengal school masters , Sri Ajoy Kumar Banerjee started drawing and painting, early in life. In 1965, he studied under the guidance of the reputed artist Indra Dugar, a disciple of Acharya Nandalal Bose. His work is focused on water colour wash and tempera especially on silk, Sri Banerjee has a distinctive approach to nature and a special gift for landscape paintings.
