Talukdar has done diploma in Fine Arts, specializing in sculpture. He has had nine solo shows in different parts of the country that includes Kolkata, New Delhi and Santiniketan. He regularly participates in group exhibitions of the Society of Contemporary Artists, Kolkata, in the Annual Exhibitions of Academy of Fine Arts and Birla Academy of Art& Culture, AIFACS and Lalit Kala Academy Exhibitions.

He has participated at various art camps organized by Tata Steel, Charukala Parishad and workshop in Port Blair and Tripura. At present he is an active member of Society of Contemporary Artists, Kolkata.
