Profile:

Tapas has completed his formal education in art from Rabindra Bharati University,Kolkata. He has also been a recipient of the National Award by Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi 2002. He won the junior fellowship in 1995-96 under Human Resource Development, Dept. of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Participated in numerous artist camp which were organized by Rotary Club, Lalit Kala Academy, New delhi,CIMA,Kolkata. Also took part in Contemporary Folk Artist workshop at Madhubani, by Govt. of Biharian 1990. In 1995 he held his first solo show at E.M.School\'s  Gallery, Amsterdam ,Netherlands. He has participated in group shows of Contemporary Indian Art, Bharat Bhavan Biennale, Bhopal  1986 and \'96. Other group shows includes Open Window  group show, Kolkata 1997  2006, 11 Indian Artists at Beijing HEART Gallery, China, 2004 and La mare Gallery Show 2006, Kolkata.
