Samit's expertise lies in the creation of interactive artworks in multi-sensory environment. Post graduation from Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. Charles Wallace Award, 2001-02, worked on the project Book as an architectural space in context of human existence. Exhibitions and participations include Kalaghoda Art Festival, Mumbai in 2005 & 06, Jaipur Festival 2005 of kite and prints, Bricks without Fullstop- a project on the changing urban landscape; a research trip, Janghu Journey, to Lijjiang, China with residency in a traditional Chinese home, Metaphysical Installation a collaborative project Indian street peddlers in 2001 etc.
Solo exhibitions: Memory lanes in metropolis, Sky - a solo photography show, New Delhi in 2007.
Works in the collections of NGMA, New Delhi at Victoria and Albert Museum, London and personal collections in India and abroad.
