Profile:

Swapna has had her art training under the guidance of the late Manik Lal Bandhopadyay and late Chintamoni Kar. She has exhibited her work both as solo and group shows in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. She has been USA in 1999 as a Fulbright Scholar of Performing Art of Puppetry. She conducts several work shops under the banner name \'Simple Puppets\' in Kolkata. In painting her preferred media is earth colour on specially made mud surface on linen and paper, acrylic on canvas and Chinese ink and brush on paper. In 2000 and 2004 she exhibited her latest works at Jehangir Art Gallery.
