Volume: 2 Issue No: 2 Month: 3 Year: 2010

Group Show
LATITUDE 28
18 February to 10 March

The exhibition named “Size Matters or Does It?” is mainly focused on the question of size in its many aspects. The market forces and the organizational interventions lead to the evaluation of an art work according to its size. The pertinent question here is whether the size of an art work actually determines its price or not. This show tries to focus on this notion or controversy. The participating artists are Arunkumar H.G., Baiju Parthan, Chittrovanu Mazumdar, Dilip Chobisa, G R Iranna, Mithu Sen, Manjunath Kamath, Pooja Iranna, Pushpamala N, Sarnath Banerjee, Prajakta Palav and Siddhartha Kararwal. The most important feature of this show is that all the artists have contributed with two works, one in small format and the other in big format. The artists have been given the freedom to handle both the formats according to their school of thinking and ideas. The commercial aspect of art as practiced in accordance with sizes is no way related or attached with this show. This show has been curated by Bhavna Kakar.
